I am a very picky shopper – some clothes are too tight, some are too loose, some are too blah and some are just not the right color. But, I am always on the lookout to style every single piece of my clothing in different ways. So even though I might not have a huge wardrobe, I keep trying to reinvent how I wear them. Add a jacket or a scarf, change some footwear, introduce some funky jewelry and voila, you have a whole new outfit!
I jumped with joy when I saw this pretty and simple red kurti on a shopping trip a while ago. The minute I saw it, I just knew I would be able to get a lot of wear out of it.
Today, I am styling the same kurti in three different looks!
Look #1 – Love my ethnic!
This look was an experiment for me. Dupattas are still quite new for me; I am always a bit hesitant about whether I will be able to carry it off or not. But, I just loved this look. It’s perfect for a get together like a wedding or a family function. If you are someone who isn’t too fond of sparkles on their dress, this just might be your thing. Understated and elegant.
My favorite thing about this outfit is the dupatta, which gives the entire look an ethnic feel (I love those poms-poms at the bottom). I added some chunky earrings to lift up the look. The palazos allow for free movement in this hot summer! You can even add a necklace to add some “oomph” to the outfit.
I’ll say it again – I LOVE those poms-poms :D
Look #2 – Hello, Monday!
Brighten up your mundane Monday at the office by adding some color to your outfit! I love how simple this outfit is. And so very comfortable!
I paired the same red kurta with some white leggings and a scarf (for when I get a bit chilly). A simple pair of earrings and comfortable footwear later, I am ready to take on the world. This look is also perfect when meeting somebody for a casual meeting or a late lunch.
If you are feeling a bit too adventurous, put on some heels and kick Monday’s ass!
Look #3 – Girl Boss
My favorite way to style this kurta – turning it into a cape!
You know I mean business when the hair goes in a bun. I love a good mix n’ match – like the ethnic earrings with some shoes. I styled it with a white plain tee and my favorite pair of blue jeans. To keep the look even more casual, I rolled up my jeans and added a mid-ring.
Perfect for a night out with friends!
Which one is your favorite outfit? I cannot pick one out of the three.. I love them all :D
