This article is Part One of a two part series. Part Two is on it’s way very soon!

I hate jeans – there, I said it! Ah, it feels so good to say (or write) it out loud. Even though I wear them in my day-to-day, they are not my favorite. To add to my misery, it is so difficult to find the right jeans that fit me perfectly!

As an alternative, I have always relied on my trousers, skirts and my trusted palazzos. They are extremely free, flowy, comfortable, and can be paired in a hundred different ways. I love how versatile they are as a single piece of clothing – traditional, modern, indo-western, casual, formal – you name it and palazzos can do it!

This week I decided to put my jeans in the backseat and tried wearing palazzos for an entire week. Now, it wasn’t really possible to wear palazzos to work everyday but I made sure to change when going out.

Let’s roll the week! (For this post, you will see outfits I wore from Monday to Thursday)

Day 1 – Let’s go formal!

To kick off the week, I wore my palazzos with a striped shirt/top for an office look – easy and comfortable clothing to charge myself for a tedious Monday. For accessories, rose gold studs and a watch with a pair of ballet flats and my trusted handbag – nothing too fancy, but definitely comfortable!

Day 2 – Tuesday Talks

Meeting someone for a quick bite to eat? Just put on a top and a pair of culottes and you are good to go! This is my favorite way to style a palazzo (or, culottes if you want to be specific!). Effortless and chic.

Day 3 – Beating the blues

For a casual Wednesday evening, I paired an Aztec printed spaghetti top with a plain blue palazzo (same from Day 1 – always using the same clothes in different ways). I am quite short (grrrr, genes!) and palazzos can sometimes make me look even shorter. As a solution to this, I added a pair of nude wedges for some extra height.

If you’re feeling a little fancy, add a chunky necklace to the outfit!

Day 4 – All about color!

We are nearing the end of the week and I need a pick-me-up to get through the week. I added a bit of color to my outfit to start getting ready for the weekend!

This time, I reversed the pairing by choosing a plain (but bright) top with a printed cotton palazzo. Maa picked this palazzo for me from an art exhibition (we share superb taste!). I added a pair of hoop earrings and some colorful bangles alongwith my favorite pair of jutti to finish the look!

Which is your favorite outfit so far? Let me know in the comments below!
