Shimla Shenanigans

Carrie Bradshaw once said “They say nothing lasts forever… Dreams change, trends come and go, but friendships never go out of style”. This thought has stuck with me ever since I first heard it during a late night movie marathon with popcorn and chocolate and ice-cream (I tend to get quite hungry during late nights). And I’ve been fortunate enough to have such two lovely ladies in my life who have always stood right next to me. read more

Binge on YouTube

March 17, 2015 by Surbhi Mehta No Comments

YouTube is slowly taking over my life. I am not kidding. It is becoming a problem day by day. From fluffy animals to Jimmy Fallon, I watch it all. But I still love it. And it is during these late night hours of YouTube marathon that I have found some really interesting people and channels. Have a look! read more

Hey you, thank you (for a lot of things)

To,
The little girl twirling in her blue dress,
Thank you for trying to find happiness in little things. You have made me appreciate every little moment of my life, even if it as little as enjoying an ice-cream. Thank you for trying out all kinds of clothes – from your jeans shorts to your long skirts. You have helped me stand out of the crowd. Thank you for picking blue as your favourite colour, it looks good on you (even today!). Thank you for taking up so many workshops during your summer vacations when you could have easily sat at home doing nothing but watching TV and eating your heart out. You opened my eyes to a world full of various artists and art forms. I am a different person because of that. On a similar note, thank you for picking dancing as your ‘thing’. I am afraid I didn’t continue with your passion but it is still very much my ‘thing’ too. Thank you for never giving in to the pressure of fitting in a certain kind of social group in school. Today, you are friends with people from all of those groups who respect you for your individuality. Thank you for indulging in different activities at school in spite of your shyness. I admire your strength and I try every day to inculcate the same in myself. Thank you for being friends with people who have such beautiful souls. I would be lost without them. They have stood by me through good, bad and ugly, through every new romance and heartbreak. I have tried my best to be there for them whenever they need me (and also when they don’t). They love you to the moon and beyond. Thank you for loving that one boy who loved you when you were nothing. You gave me a best friend for a lifetime. He still loves you immensely and unconditionally. Thank you for giving me such a beautiful relationship with Maa and Big. Thank you for sharing every little detail of your life with them. Not a day goes by when I don’t do the same. They are very proud of you. All my life I will try to repay them for their kindness and love. I will make sure that they are proud of you till the very end. read more
